ProducePoint.com has opened its corporate offices at the Uni-Kool Center in
Salinas, CA. The offices, located at 379 W. Market Street, will house the
executive officers of the company in addition to the core software engineering
team. "As an agriculture company, we recognize the importance of locating in the
Salinas Valley rather than the Silicon Valley," according to co-founder and
President, Richard Kaiser, a 30 year veteran of the produce industry.
The Salinas office will be the center of ProducePoint.com's operations.
Additionally, the company has a software development team located in San
Francisco, CA.
ProducePoint.com is an agriculture-related Internet startup whose principals are
a blend of the Salinas Valley and Silicon Valley. The company is a
business-to-business (B2B) integrator that will provide an information service
to those in the produce industry. ProducePoint's CEO, Rock Clapper, formerly CEO
and co-founder of GotSavings.com, says, "There is a tremendous opportunity in
the produce industry to take advantage of the Internet as a tool to access
information." Technology employed by ProducePoint.com, using the Internet, will
enable buyers and sellers of produce to make up-to-the-minute decisions on
commodities they purchase or sell.
